The former executive chef of Hamilton Island, Lindsey Clark Palmer, has joined Outrigger on the Lagoon Fiji as Executive Assistant Manager. On Hamilton Island, Lindsey was in charge of the resort’s 12 restaurants as well as food outlets and banqueting, leading a team of over 90 chefs and 30 stewards. In this role, he built strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders, collaborating with CEO, CFOs and heads of departments to deliver on business objectives. He also played a leading role in the staging of such events as the Great Barrier Feast, Audi Hamilton Island Race Week, Hamilton Triathlon and Whitehaven Beach Ocean Swim and the Hamilton Island Outrigger Cup. Outrigger on the Lagoon general manager Peter Hopgood said Lindsey’s organisational skills, his experience in leading large teams and ability to develop and deliver concepts would be an invaluable asset for the resort. Mr Hopgood also announced the appointment of Kushend Kumar as Director of Sales, resort based. A fluent Japanese speaker, he attended the Tokyo Technical College and the Bunka Institute of Language in Tokyo on a Japanese government scholarship sponsored by Fiji’s Public Service Commission. His experience in the hospitality industry includes time spent as revenue manager, marketing services and senior sales manager and front office manager. A keen soccer fan with interests in gardening, reading, travelling and music, Kushend brings with him a deep understanding of the Japanese and Korean markets and a broad knowledge and experience of executive management roles and property management systems. |
