As NSW felt temperatures soar above the 40s, hotels felt a nice jolt in their bookings as well with travel and lifestyle site, lastminute.com.au, recording a 44 percent increase in NSW hotel bookings for 8 January 2013, compared to the same date last year.

lastminute.com.au general manager Kirsty Labruniy said that not only will hotel stays on those hot summer days help provide better sleeping conditions, but will also continue the holiday feeling as the working year begins again.
