Tourism in the Philippines will benefit from the introduction of two new Starwood properties, the Westin Manila Bayshore and the Sheraton Manila Hotel, scheduled to open in the next five years.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide will launch its two largest brands - Westin and Sheraton - in two new multi-billion dollar integrated entertainment complexes, Resorts World Bayshore and Resorts World Manila.

The opening of the two hotels helps to fuel Starwood’s significant growth strategy in Asia, while the planned development of The Manila Bayshore represents the Westin brand’s re-entry into the Philippine market.

“It is about time to bring back the Westin brand in the bay area, where it used to be popular,” Travellers International Hotel Group president Kingson U. Sian said.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts regional vice president Southeast Asia Chuck Abbott said he was thrilled to see the two vibrant brands re-entering the Filipino marketplace, citing ample demand from consumers.

“We are excited about the rebirth of these two well-known and recognized international hotel brands from Starwood and welcome them back in the Philippines,” Mr Abbott said.

The Westin Manila Bayshore is scheduled to open in mid-2016, while the Sheraton Manila Hotel is slated to open early 2017.
